Denise Mendez

Denise Mendez is a UC Berkeley graduate with a B.A. in Sociology and a concentration in Research Methods. A mother of two who became a parent at 19, she knows firsthand the challenges of pursuing higher education without adequate support. At Berkeley, she was a lead peer advisor at the Student Parent Center, founded the Student Parent Wellness Support Program, and researched the experiences of student parents. Today, she works in program evaluation and community leadership, and remains committed to helping student parents and young families thrive.
